“ I've heard Full Kee is the best dim sum place in Richmond when I first moved here 2.5 years ago. And today I finally tried it. It's all true! Best, authentic Cantonese dim sum in Richmond. Weekends are the only time they do push carts but that's how I like it because you get to see what they look like before committing. Each basket is typically 3-4 pieces and the prices range from $5-6. The bigger dishes are even more. Because it's easy to go overboard when you want to try a piece of everything, it's best to have a bigger group. We had 6 and we averaged $35 per person (including tips). We think it's a great outing especially after running the 10k. This is a no fuzz place and it gets very busy on weekends. It's not realistic to expect high level service as there are simply not that many hands. I just walk to someone and ask for help politely. Make it convenient for them to help you, you in turn help yourself. My only complaint is everything was too salty. Hahah everything is always too salty for me. ”

“ Full Kee is an old school Chinese restaurant with a big following for takeout. The restaurant doesn't have a menu, so if you want to order takeout you'll have to swing by and get a menu or find pictures of it online. The web link on their Facebook page is for Full Kee in DC. The food is fresh and orders are ready quickly. We love their soups, fried dumplings, and classic Chinese (American) dishes. The sirloin with asparagus and the pork with black bean sauce are our favorites. ”

“ Walking into the restaurant is a little bit like walking into the past, seeing what a Chinese restaurant used to be like, but seldom is nowadays. Large tanks holding fresh crabs and lobsters, heated displays of hanging roast duck and pork set the tone. The place looks like it has been here for a while, and perhaps could use a deep cleaning or carpet replacement, but in a way that just feels more authentic. A nice touch that has been missing in most places recently, they provide complimentary tea! Food was great; we had beef and Chinese broccoli chow foon - very tasty with nice sauce. Not at all spicy, but flavorful (normally a fairly bland dish, but tables all provided with Sambal Olek and soy sauce). Other dish was roast pork & noodle soup. Good, but was expecting thicker Chinese noodles and received thin rice noodles. Good though. Only negative was we wanted roast duck and they were out. Also heard another table asking for shrimp dumplings and they were out of those also. ”

“ TLDR: Best Peking duck in Richmond, call ahead and order even if you want to dine-in. Third time's the charm. I've been trying to get their Peking duck for a while now. We tried once on Xmas (which was my fault) and it was too packed to even eat there. Another time was lunch time on a weekend, it was packed and we only successfully ordered dim sum. We thought we put in an order for peking duck, but we never saw our waiter again and were told that we hadn't ordered it an hour later. This recent visit we went on a week night and it was pretty empty. We learned that it takes a while to make Peking duck so you need to either call ahead or be willing to wait a little. It was so worth the wait. I missed crispy and juicy Peking duck with amazing plum sauce and pancakes. I found it at Full Kee Restaurant. This is an authentic spot with great dim sum, but even better duck. I once came across a TikTok that said the most authentic and delicious Asian spots have 3.5 stars on Yelp, this is true in this case. The service can be slow, but the food is totally worth it. There is a lot of seating inside and it's great for big groups. ICYMI, I highly recommend coming here and ordering the Peking duck. ”
